Weekly Recap
Chad raises the ceiling. Mike stays perfect. Larry keeps digging.
Chad Van Horn turned The Amber Beull into a demolition, beating Alex Buell 140.15 to 80.52. Kyren Williams delivered 31.70 and Chuba Hubbard added 25.40 from the flex spots. Chad set the season's scoring high and largest winning margin at 59.63 points. Paper Champs is beginning to look like a misleading company name. Sleeper awarded Chad Best Team and Biggest Blowout, while Alex took Underachiever after falling short of his 105.31 starter projection.
Mike Aguanno escaped Jack Decker 90.18 to 86.01 in the Perfect Stranger Bowl. The 4.17 point margin was the closest of the week. Alvin Kamara supplied 20.30, and Mike survived a zero from Ladd McConkey to reach 4 wins and no losses. The league's only unbeaten manager continues to make ugly wins look like a business model. Sleeper made it official with Narrow Victory and Lowest Points in a Win. Jack still claimed QB of the Week through Drake Maye's 24.41.
Stephen Spencer won The Debate over Larry Noel, 103.34 to 70.40. Sam LaPorta led Stephen with 19.20. Larry posted the league's lowest score for the second straight week and remains winless through four games. With the punishment menu now on Draft Central, this is a terrible time to be conducting market research.
Chris Scurry beat Sean Laird 122.42 to 103.28 in the Doug Bowl. CeeDee Lamb and Javonte Williams combined for 61.60, more than enough to absorb Saquon Barkley's 0.50. Sean got 30.40 from Kenneth Walker but still dropped his second straight game. Scurry joins Chad and Stephen at 3 wins and 1 loss. Scurry also swept Best Manager and Overachiever, getting 94.9% of his 129.02 maximum and comfortably beating an 82.08 starter projection.
Pavel Kogan took the Fox and Sauce Bowl over Tom Burkett, 114.68 to 106.21. Tetairoa McMillan's 37.20 was the highest score by any starter in the league. Tom had the week's highest losing total despite 27.20 from Bijan Robinson. A respectable performance, filed directly into the loss column.
Evan Seacat beat Rob Lazerson 103.42 to 81.27 in the Upper Management Bowl. Nico Collins scored 27.30, helping Evan win his second straight game and get back to 2 wins and 2 losses. Rob received 18.20 from Brock Bowers, but upper management declined the rest of the proposal. Sleeper nevertheless named Evan Worst Manager: his 103.42 represented just 74.9% of a 138.02 maximum. Winning the meeting does not mean you prepared for it.
Sleeper's position awards went to Drake Maye at quarterback, Kyren Williams at running back, Tetairoa McMillan at receiver and Sam LaPorta at tight end. The bench honors belonged to Pavel's Jared Goff with 20.73, Stephen's Kyle Monangai with 27.50, Tom's Romeo Doubs with 20.80 and Mike's Isaiah Likely with 10.80. Tom added Highest Points in a Loss, while Larry received Worst Team. All of the supplied Week 4 report awards are preserved below.
Wrench won the Horsecast prediction week with 5 correct picks out of 6, while Sean went 3 and 3. Wrench now leads the season with 12 wins and 6 losses to Sean's 11 wins and 7 losses. His predictions are outperforming his roster by an uncomfortable margin. Week 5 picks and matchup names are now posted.
